We have been very blessed to be staying in a fully furnished apartment rent free while we are in Pennsylvania. One of our partnering churches has a house dedicated to housing for missionaries. What an AWESOME ministry!
Since we aren't paying rent, I've been itching to do something to follow my parent's advice...you know, "Always leave things better than you found them!" I really admire that even when my folks didn't have a lot, they always returned a borrowed car with a full tank of gas, regardless of how much was in the tank to start with.
So here's my little bathroom makeover! Sorry, I didn't get a picture of the old shower curtain...it was the same as the border on the curtains and a wee mite "tired". Before:
And After:
I just "shopped the house" for the new artwork.
And now here's my next decorating dilemma...this is the main bathroom in the house we are moving into in Paraguay in July. I plan to repaint the yellow wall and remove the big foot rug (ha) but I'm at a bit of a loss as to what kind of towels and shower curtain (color?? pattern??) to use. PLEASE, PLEASE give me your ideas about how to make the most of the mint green tile!
P.S. Sorry if I confused anyone with my last post! We haven't arrived to Paraguay yet. We will be flying mid June to the capital city where we will have a month of orientation before we move to our new home.

Hmmm...mint green, huh? Perhaps you could find a shower curtain with some chocolate brown in the pattern? I love brown with most colors. Then maybe some deep chocolate towels too? It's hard to work with that green, but I bet you will figure it out! :)

Your bathroom makeover looks so great! I love the new curtain & shower curtain too!!
My advice for the NEW bathroom would be to do something similar as you just did. Focus on the neutral colors (you already have black, white, & could use cafe like in your bathroom now/or chocolate as Ms. Carrie suggested). Then the mint green (which I'm now officially changing the name of that color to sea glass!) will be just a tiny accent color making just a small appearance!
I'm sure you'll make it look lovely! :)

Loved your first bathroom makeover! Would love to learn more about your work there.
Yeah, good luck with that! Those old "mint" green bathrooms really are so old fashioned! But after seeing your first makeover I´m sure you will do a great job on this one too!
I would use neutral tones, since the floor has such a "busy" pattern already. Maybe white or brown.
Your friends are all so smart...I was kind of thinking white so you could just bleach and keep them white or else like they were saying the brown or cafe colors would like nice...please please please don't do peach!!! hehe
I like the chocolate brown color idea too, or you could paint everything out white and use a bold black and white fabric for the shower curtain. I love black, white and mint green together. I feel your pain though, we have a 1950's pink bathroom and it took me FORVER to figure out what to do with it.
I'm thinking you should go for a spa like feel. Using a lot of white would sure tone that mint green. White towels and shower curtain. Accents of black or the chocolate would look great. Simplicity is the key here. You don't want to put and busy patterns. Hope that helps.
Oh and I do love the other bathroom. You did a great job!
Wow, you did a GREAT job with the bathroom. Wanna help me decorate mine??
Without looking at anyone else's comments, my first thought was chocolate and beige. Even though the dirt in the chaco isn't red like where we live, there's still a LOT of sand.
Don't bring any white towels with you to Paraguay...especially with little boys;)
Shilo,
You did such a great job on the first bathroom. The colors work really well together.
It will be fun to see how you pull together your new bathroom. I say the brighter the better! White, red, yellow, blue. Hope we get to look together when you get here even though your time will be too fast!!
Love,
Jen
That is so sweet of yall. The bathroom looks great now!
With the mint green I might go for a spa like feel and use a solid white curtain and fluffy white towels. If you wanted to do a color I would throw in chocolate brown. But I would mostly keep it white and mint. :) So for the wall color I would just do a neutral because a paint color might just draw more attention to the mint.
Miguel says, what's so wrong with that bathroom?! :D haha...I like the idea of brown accents with the mint green...but you know I'm no Martha Stewart here...I think you will probably need some storage space in there, too, hanging shelves or something? Seems like the water from the shower will get everywhere, though...
p.s. First bathroom makeover=awesome!
I would go white all the way!! It's harder to keep clean but it would look fantastic with the green!!
I love the green. How about adding black and white...checks or toile or polka-dots?
