I KNOW that it is possible to give courage. I know because I've been blessed by the gift of courage over and over as we prepare to leave family and friends and move to Paraguay.
It was a tear streaked face and a hug so hard that it took my breath away.
It was a group of teenagers and children that surrounded us, laid on hands and prayed after they presented us with nearly $1500 (I know...AMAZING).
It was a group of teenagers and children that surrounded us, laid on hands and prayed after they presented us with nearly $1500 (I know...AMAZING).
It was a group of women offering to bring meals, babysit while we pack, and scrub our floors so we can spend more time with our family the week before we leave.
It is their belief that we can do this. It is their empathy and encouragement.
And it is what has caused my dread to turn to courage and expectation. It is their gift to me. It is God's gift to me. Courage.
*I should clarify that my dread has nothing to do with our future in Paraguay, because I am very excited about that, but rather the whole process of moving and saying goodbyes.*

You will find that your most amazing support comes from the most unlikely sources.
Thank God for the faith and love of these little children. They believe in you and the God in you and they did indeed give you an incredible gift (beyond the money).
You guys are going to make an amazing impact in Paraguay. My favorite verse is about courage...it's from Joshua 1:9 and I cling to it on those less-than-courageous days :)
wow - how wonderful for everyone to be coming around you like this. Praise the Lord!
and well written blog entry...
I agree. Good bye´s are really very hard!
Bless your heart. You are such an inspiration to me. Picking up and leaving family and friends and moving FAR away is so hard. I know you will bless so many lives as you embark on this new journey. Big Gigantic Hugs....
