Pottery Barn Kids Inspired Transportation Art

When I saw these the other cute painted canvases the other day (for $39 each – yikes!), I decided to make my own version for free using fabric and frames that I had on hand.

Darling Little Redhead chose the truck.  And we together chose the boat for El Principito.  I was thankful that’s how it worked out because the airplane looked the most complicated!

These will go above each boy’s bed.  I hope to make a small coordinating pillow too.  I’m not sure if that comes before or after painting their bed frames but hopefully it will all be done before too much longer!

Have a wonderful day everyone!!  May the joy of the Lord be your strength!

Oh my goodness, those are adorable! I think I like yours BETTER than the Pottery Barn ones! So cute!

You've inspired me...I saw something totally adorable, and totally expensive that I wanted for K's room...maybe I should just figure out how to make it!

Great job!

I LOVE using Pottery Barns ideas for inspiration and in Paraguay, like you did, you can either make it yourself or find someone to make it for you!! You should also check out the random alphabet on the wall from the new catalog. Totally going to do that in my kids room when we return. Thank you for sharing these great ideas! I so appreciated some of what you said in your Top 5 food epiphanies as well. Keep pressing on! ~Sarah

Love it Shilo! I will keep that in mind for decorating my baby's room. By the way, I have kept your advice in mind with my new flat in South Africa. We are moving to a new house/flat soon (we're looking right now) as this one is really not baby-friendly. (It is furnished and the furnishings are NOT our taste either!!) I love reading your blogs about decorating because I now can relate so much to the desire to make a beautiful and cozy home on the missions field. Whenever we find our more "permanent" place, I'd love to get your feedback on decorating it. :-)

You are just the craftiest thing! This is so beyond me that I'm not entirely convinced this isn't magic. ;) Love these. Your boys are lucky to have a mom who is so interested in things, who gets involved, who tackles projects!

I'm felling in love with your project! You seem to be a very creative person:) Thanks for sharing. I'm planning on to do the same with my little son who is fond of all means of transportation including airplanes and trucks.
