Looking unto Jesus and not at the sincerity of our intentions,

and at the strength of our resolutions. 

Alas!  How often the most excellent intentions have only

prepared the way for the most humiliating falls.

Let us stay ourselves, not on our intentions, but on His love;

not on our resolutions, but on His promise.
