Destination: Paraguay

We made it to Paraguay! Thanks so much for your prayers. We were delayed overnight in Brazil, but that was a total blessing in disguise because we arrived a little more rested (they put us up in a little hostel where we slept for about six hours).
We were met at the airport in Asuncion by Honey's sister and family, our Paraguayan host family along with our host church's pastor and wife, as well as a representative from our mission.

Here are a few pictures from our first week here:
Making Mbeyu, a Paraguayan cheese pancake typically enjoyed during the month of June.

The finished product, which strangely enough tasted like macaroni and cheese to me! :)

Coffee comes with sugar already mixed in here!

The basket of food our host church prepared for us - so sweet and generous!

This brand of paper products has a bit of a superiority complex, wouldn't you say? :)

I agree with you, mbeyu does taste a little like macaroni and cheese. Mbeyu tastes really good on cold days in Paraguay, especially with a hot cup of cocido.

I don't think you can really taste the sugar in the coffee, but I prefer the brand Mayo.

Enjoy getting to know all of the new things in Paraguay!

I think it's just WONDERFUL that your host church had that basket ready for you! That first grocery store trip to get "survival food" was so overwhelming for us, so you're already ahead of the game now! You don't have to navigate the grocery store on little sleep....

Glad y'all are here and enjoying life down below!!

SO glad you guys made it in one piece and even a little rested. You look so glamorous making those pancakes. I love that you are wearing those big dangly earrings. You take style with you wherever you go! Hope this next month goes well before you get settled in. And let me know if you need me to send you any REAL coffee!!

How fun!! I just love hearing about other countries, so this first-hand account is fantastic! Keep the Paraguay posts coming! :) So, their coffee has sugar already mixed in...that's interesting. I prefer mine w/ cream only...does one come with cream already mixed in? :) I think I would LOVE the cheese pancake. Sounds yummy!

I'm glad to know that you guys are there and enjoying it! Continuing to pray for you all.

Hope you're having a great day!

How do you pronounce the m and b together in mbeyu? So neat that your host church can get involved with your ministry, that will be so good for both sides!

Prayed for your flight over. Mmmmm - cheese pancakes sound yummy. I am sure my boys would eat those up quick.
